I love love love this vintage Day Dress!!! Look, it has little lady bugs on the pink daisies!! AND POLKA DOTS!!! This is seriously one of the cutest dresses I’ve ever seen. Did I mention it has black piped circular pockets too!! OMG!! Why oh why don’t we still make dresses like this anymore is a huge mystery to me. Thank god some of us are smart enough to know the proper way to store vintage. The combed cotton fabric has the durability of a brand new dress. Built for speed!! Enjoy!!

I have these two wedding dresses. One is a hideous 1980’s oil based faux satin gown with plastic beads that mimic pearls, and fish scale lustered sequin, mass produced from the bowels of a Chinese sweatshop, ornately designed and rubber stamped using a pressing machine the size of Walmart. The other is a 1940’s handcrafted Molokai lace bodice silk satin gown with hand twisted cinched waist piping and miles and miles of creamy dreamy sexy smooth silk satin dripping like honey onto the floor into it’s trane. The layering of tule flatter and support the under world of both gowns like an Elizabethan virginal parasol yet one performs and feels like a picket fence while the other tickles like crape paper……….however, both dresses, in the end, are incredibly stunning in their own very interesting and unique ways. Here’s a picture of them hanging out together like two lost twins in the back of my shop…..I love them both with equal measure.

While I was home last week nursing a fierce cold I decided to make some retro Valentine inspired aprons. I found some super cute prints at a local fabric store. After I knocked out a couple I started messing around with adding old stock vintage trim that I got at an estate sale. I sold out in 2 days!!! So now I’m hooked!! I have people on a waiting list. I’m taking orders now and I have a wish list for color and print combos. So much fun!!!
